This hectic Half Moon Bay home is seemingly reigned supreme by two rambunctious St. Bernards. All day long they love to entertain me by wrestling and running and slamming into each other, and each hilarious playtime is punctuated by power naps, complete with heavy breathing and drooling. And yet somehow, amidst the madness,

GromKitty always manages to find a serene spot to sit and reflect on the world outside, refreshing himself by calmly sniffing the ocean breezes.

When Desi is struck by inspiration, he likes to get to work quickly and quietly. He prefers to do most of his work in the middle of the night when he is less likely to be interrupted in his creative process. I love what he did here, using just a single roll of white Quilted Northern. It shows that he can be soft and sweet, but with an irrepressible wild streak. It's pure genius and I believe he has every reason to be proud.

Cutie pie Cleo

On this sunny Sunday morning, my good friend Cleo had the gracious good manners to let me sleep all the way until 6:30. Wow! Then she entertained me for the better part of an hour by frolicking around the house like a little kitten. So adorable! And as I write this, she is curled up behind me on the couch, kneading her little paws into my lower back, giving me a much needed massage. I think she may be the perfect hostess!

Barney likes to get his paperwork over early in the day so he can get to the really important things in life - like feather wrestling.

Venus is dismayed that all the men attending the Academy Awards have seemingly copied her fashion style without affording her due credit.

Although he loves his long daily walks, on this very rainy day Buddy realizes there's no point in arguing with Mother Nature, so he consoles himself with the fact that he has such a plush perch from which to watch and wait for the sun to shine once again.

Although Gracie came to stay while seeking a new home, in the end she was just too darn cute to part with, and now she's a permanent resident. Hooray!

Duke

Handsome is as handsome does, it's true, but Duke has a lot more going for him than his elegant good looks. There is his sweet, gentle and generous nature just for starts. Yet when he saunters down the street, heads swivel and jaws drop at the sheer majestic beauty that is his. It makes me feel special just to be the person who has the honor to stroll alongside him.
